As Los Angeles’ ‘ambassador of boogie funk’ preps for the release of his latest EP, InnaFocusedDaze, DāM-FunK drops a kooky little video for the track, “Forever.” Head over to Vimeo to watch the out-of-this-world video here.
Teaming up with the Brooklyn spitter Talib Kweli, Southern California rapper M.E.D. (aka Medaphoar) throws it back a bit with the Karriem Riggins-produced, fittingly-titled track, “Classic.” Watch the Stones Throw crew put on their best threads for the video below:

Los Angeles beat king Exile has recently teamed up with LRG to bring you his entirely self-produced Into To The Outro. If you’re a fan of modern hip-hop, you should already know what to expect from the veteran; solid and crisp, no filler instrumentals usually accompanied by hand-picked emcees of decent caliber. Spitting over some of the tracks: Fashawn, Blu, MF DOOM, Bun B, amongst many more. 4 TRK MIND, Exile’s latest full-length record is set for release on October 4.

West Coast retro-funk king D?M-FunK does it once again. Breathing new life into Los Angeles’ lo-fi musician Nite Jewel‘s track “It Goes Through Your Head,” the current Stones Throw beatmaker/producer superimposes Ramona Gonzalez’s vocals unto an instrumental that sounds like it was thoroughly banged in the mid to late ’80′s. Listen to the booty-shaker below.

Most fans of hip-hop already know the tale of Madvillain; one of the most beloved collaborations in contemporary hip-hop between New York-based MF Doom and Los Angeles producer Madlib resulting in an instant [cult] classic LP. As many of us are itching for a third record, here’s a snippet of a track that’s presumably off the duo’s upcoming project. Download the rest of the Stones Throw mixtape that it’s pulled from as well here.

Late pass on this holiday tune from Los Angeles based (via Michigan) crooner Mayer Hawthorne. Luckily for us though, Christmas hasn’t taken place yet, so we’re in the clear. Enjoy this rendition of “Christmas Time is Here,” a track that uses the Vince Guaraldi Trio’s instrumental off of the immediately recognizable A Charlie Brown Christmas soundtrack.

Here’s the latest installment in the Bang Ya Head series from West Coast MC and Stones Throw affiliate, MED. Features a good variety of bops and bangers from the likes of Oh No, Madlib, J. Rocc and Exile. Peep the tracklist and download below:

From the Madlib Medicine Show #11: Low Budget Hi-Fi Music comes this fresh new Supreme Team joint, “Interview #4080.” With Madlib collaborating with a broad range of other artists such as AG, Oh No and Strong Arm Steady on the latest installment of the Medicine Show series, the new 28-track record is definitely one of our anticipated.
Madlib Medicine Show #11: Low Budget Hi-Fi Music Album Art:

A tradition that began in 2006 by the Los Angeles based Stones Throw Records‘ head honcho and DJ/producer, Peanut Butter Wolf, is the celebration of the rare numerical alignment of dates in the calendar year. 10-10-10 marks the fifth year in which PB Wolf throws an event marking the date and, of course, it is sure to be bigger and better than ever. In addition to a ten-hour shindig being thrown in downtown L.A at The Sex in which only 45′s will exclusively be spun by 10 DJs in 10 hours, a limited box set of 10 45′s will be released. Peep the show flyer and list of 45′s below:

Here’s a track from Dâm-Funk‘s upcoming October 26th release, Adolescent Funk, a collection of the LA funkmaster’s earlier work spanning the years of 1988-1992 via Stones Throw Records. A dope throwback from one of the best still doing it on the West Coast.
