London-based house duo Basement Jaxx as veterans in the dance music scene have seen their share of trends in the game throughout their 16-year tenure. Their latest track “Dracula” is a good reminder that the electro heads are more than just a certain 90′s one hit wonder. Check out the brooding, choppy track below:
From the French house duo that seems to never stray anywhere away from relevancy, an accompanying official music video for the track “Derezzed” from the Tron: Legacy soundtrack has dropped marking today’s official release of the Daft Punk arranged film compositions. The visuals for the video are perfectly suited to the film soundtrack; set in a Tron-like hyper reality, a pair of digital knights are depicted in a cyber jousting match. Tron: Legacy is set to hit theaters on December 17th. Watch the video below and listen to the track (along with a Breakdown remix) here:
Aussie synthpoppers Cut Copy have been taking a long, well-deserved sabbatical after a good three years of whirlwind touring and constant promoting of their critically acclaimed second record, In Ghost Colours. With the follow-up, Zonoscope, looming on the horizon (with a scheduled release in February), the group has released their second teaser for the upcoming album. “Take Me Over” is a good offering; an infectious electro-infused dance tune incorporating the band’s signature mastery of sing-a-long choruses.

What happens when Canadian electro punkers Crystal Castles and iconic 80′s frontman Robert Smith collide? Apparently a reworked collaboration that sounds a lot better than it looks in writing. Breathing new life into their cover of the 1983 track by Platinum Blonde, Crystal Castles invited The Cure’s lead vocalist to take the reins and the results are pretty great.

In other DJ-duo collaboration news, Armand Van Helden and A-Trak’s project Duck Sauce further chugs along with a new music video for their song “Barbra Streisand”. Though the track and video aren’t as cool as “aNYway” in my mind, it’s dope that the two pay tribute to the city from which their project is based in (New York City) and the fellow musicians from whom the two take inspiration from (a.k.a. cameos galore).

Yeah, M.I.A.‘s latest album wasn’t that great, you don’t have to tell us. Well, at least one of the CD’s biggest critics Diplo (an actual collaborator on said record) hasn’t been shy about expressing his distaste for the record. In an effort to preserve his own ‘immaculate’ relationship with the Sri Lankan punk-pop artist, the two have recently shared an unreleased electro-fused demo from the /\/\/\Y/\ sessions.
