After rocking the World Famous, New Year’s Eve party last night at the Ace Hotel in Palm Springs, East of LA artist Alf Alpha, decides to drop an exclusive track, featuring Pheo and Cashius Green of UTB Life$tyle, to help ring in the new year.

Reckless Harlem native ASAP Rocky made a guest appearance at yesterday’s Fool’s Gold “Day Off BBQ” event in New York City (more coverage here) and consequently proved why he is one of the frontrunners in this new generation of DIY rappers. Alongside Juicy J and Spaceghostpurrp, the Rick Owens aficionado dropped his latest single, “Peso” to an embracing (albeit rabid) crowd. The Michael Uzowuru produced track (which clocks in just a bit over two minutes) finds the young guns doing what they do best; allowing listeners a small glimpse into the life of a goon through a hazy maze of clever references and smooth spitting.

We are thrilled to announce that East of LA‘s very own Alf Alpha is set to perform on Saturday, April 16 (Day 2) at the 2011 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival! This accomplishment is one that we, along with our good friends at The Coachella Valley Art Scene, have been eagerly awaiting to share with the world.
Alf Alpha’s personal thoughts regarding the announcement:
The official Coachella 2011 line-up was released late Tuesday night. I am pleased to announce that I (Alf Alpha) will be ple’y the festival on Saturday. I have been attending Coachella since I was 15 years old and have never missed a year. This festival has been a major influence on me and was one of my sources of inspiration to pursue my musical career . I had always looked forward to one day spinning at the festival and now that day has arrived. I’m honored to have been asked to perform this year and become the 1st solo artist from the Coachella Valley to perform at the festival. Thank you to all my friends that have supported me and helped me achieve this amazing goal. WE DID IT! I look forward to rocking the stage and partying with all my friends. See you all in April.

Breathing new life into Los Angeles’ lo-fi musician Nite Jewel‘s track “It Goes Through Your Head,” the current Stones Throw beatmaker/producer superimposes Ramona Gonzalez’s vocals unto an instrumental that sounds like it was thoroughly banged in the mid to late ’80′s.
