I heard this the other day on myspace. Its a nice selection of joints. I heard some of Alf Alpha’s other mixes before and I’m not gonna rag his mixing but it definitely needs to be said. Mixing is more than just beatmatching. Anyone who’s DJ and has more than a year’s experience playing outside your bedroom should know more techniques than just beatmatching.Even with no editing and effects machine there’s ALOT than can be done with just two turntables and a mixer. When DJ spins his set it supposed to be more than just playing songs he should display his skill and creativity. There aren’t any rules in Hip Hop. Let song play for up to the second chorus and beatmatch and mix on chorus is NOT a standard set in stone that DJ’s must follow without deviation. It’s just guide to a a rule. If this refers to as a DJ please elevate your a game.

I hope nobody takes this as a dis against Alf Aplha it wasn’t direted at him but listening to the mix reminded me of so much of what I’m hearing from so-called ” DJ’s”.
