Chillwave is here to stay. That’s a reality we all must accept, whether or not we’re fans of the sometimes dumb, oftentimes pretentious internet-created musical genre. What we can be thankful for is that most of the bands and artists that spearheaded the fast-growing movement are ditching the mostly all-too-common 4-track recording approach and polishing their sound for decent aural consumption. Hearkening this awakening in their own manner, Texas-based Neon Indian are set to blaze the path for their cohorts with their second album, Era Extraña. Preview the album in its entirety courtesy of NPR here and purchase the album on September 13th.
