Jennings | Doorway and Surrender
October 23rd, 2009

Hauntingly soulful is one description that come to mind when listening to Jennings.
“She has this big, gorgeous voice that is full of timbre and character and makes you want to listen over and over again.”
Wildy Haskell - Wildy’s World
Influenced by Sarah McLachlan and Tori Amos, Mary Jennings has a voice that captures the listener and doesn’t let go. The Nashville singer/songwriter brilliantly mixes piano driven pop with soulful singing and a touch of electronica. This eclectic mix of genres had Cabaret Voltaire’s Chris Watson remark:
“If Moby and Alicia Keys had a child, I believe it would be [her].”
I would say Jennings is what Amy Lee (Evanescence) would sound like if she made a pop album. Haunting beautiful vocals that you can’t get out of head.
