Chali 2na | Lock Sh*t Down ft. Talib Kweli(video)

Chali 2na fresh from the realease of his new album “Fish Outta Water” just dropped a video for the single “Lock Sh*t Down” featuring Talib Kweli. The beat is a good fast paced mixture of mainstream commercial Rap with just enough Hip Hop funk to satisfy underground heads. Though like I stated in my review of Chali 2na’s album (read the review here) Talib Kweli’s performance on this track is a major disappointment. For long time Talib fans seeing Kweli in the video will break your heart. It’s official folks Kweli has gone Hollywood, yep it’s sad, but that is the way of world. All good things come to an end.

So basically, the concept for the music video went something like this:
“So, what should we do for that freshh new track?”
“I don’t know, we’re pretty broke…but we DID get that sweet new video software.”
“Cool, what kind of effects does it have?”
“About 300 or so. Which should we use.”
“All of them.”
“Yeah, that’ll be so cool.”
Damn, that video sucked.
The song sucked.
Talib, eh, he has enough good stuff where I’ll forgive him.

You have to be out of your fucking mind to think the song “sucked”.
Go back to Lil Wayne and Soulja Boy.
I’ll give it to you for the video, it’s a little weird. But the song is fucking DOPE.
