The Monday’s | Week 26 of 2009 (mp3s / mixes / videos)
June 22nd, 2009

Are we getting lazier or is the web producing more music which keeps our heads nodding and toe’s tapping? Whichever is the case, The Monday’s have been a hit so far, I’ve been seeing a ton of traffic & retweets, so I’m assuming this is something people want to see more of. Three weeks ago we started with 6 tracks and this week I’ve got about 18 for you! Once again, here are tracks keeping our ear’s buzzen which we could have shared with you last week!
Download: The Monday’s Week 26 (Mediafire, 87mb).
Music:
1.) Wu Tang Clan - “Kill Too Hard” (Ft. Inspectah Deck, U-God, Masta Ace) - We posted a track off Wu-Tang: Chamber Music last Monday & the tunes keep dropping off the project. Grab a legit copy of the album June 30th which couples original Wu-Tang MCs with classic 90s-era New York Rappers. The clan continues to strengthen their brand after half a decade of lackluster releases. (MP3: Download)
2.) Grand Puba - “Same Old Drama” ft. Large Professor - We posted on Puba last Monday as well, but this time he links up with NYC legend Large Pro to create a thought provoking track with some smooth but slightly eery strings looped up. The track comes off his forthcoming solo album Retroactive, dropping on June 23rd. (MP3: Download)
3.) DJ JS-1 - “Clear N’ Present Danger” f. KRS-One & Canibus - A pair of legends go in on this track from DJ JS-1’s upcoming album Ground Original 2: No Sell Out, which drops June 23rd. (MP3: Download)
4.) DJ JS-1 - “Ridiculous” (ft. O.C. & Pharoahe Monch) - Two of the finest and most underated emcee’s to bless a mic, contribute to this track which comes off JS-1’s already hip hop star-studded new release on Fat Beats Records. Intro by Common & Cuts by JS-1. (MP3: Download)
5.) Guilty Simpson - “Feel It” (prod. Style MiSia) - The Stones Throw true goon lays verbs over production via Italian producer Style MiSia. (MP3: Download)
6.) Nas - “Be Worried” (Prod. Swiss Beatz) - Nas & Swiss Beatz collab to drop this gem. Both of em come at this joint with their A-Game. (MP3: Download)
7.) Krondon - “For A Fee” (Prod. Alchemist) - It has been a long time since Krondon has spurred my interest, however this track is fire. Alchemist hits the boards and as usual proves himself to be one of the premier producers in Hip Hop. This joint comes compliments of Krondon’s upcoming solo project, Let Him Live, which drops July 2nd. (MP3: Download)
8.) Crooked I - “Dear Pac - A Letter to Pac” (Komplex Remix) - June 16th marked what would have been Tupac’s 38th birthday. Producer, Komplex remixed Crooked I’s “Dear Tupac” from last year which was originally over the “Straight Ballin’” beat. This version fits like a glove. (MP3: Download)
9.) Wiz Khalifa & Currensy - “Car Service” - A very fresh track from blog favorite’s Wiz Khalifa & Currensy. Sunny day? Drop your windows and bump this one. Looking forward to their collaborative mixtape project How Fly dropping next month. (MP3: Download)
Another 8 tracks, a mix & video’s after the jump…
10.) Mickey Factz - “Flyin Balloons” (Prod. Cookin Soul) Cookin Soul is flying high with his production and buzz within the industry, he teams up with the best of the best via Nah Right & FLuD Watches to produce what I expect to be a beast of a mixtape. This is the first leak from the mixtape which will feature 12 tracks to represent the 12 hours on the clock. (MP3: Download)
11.) Cage - “Look At What You Did” (Prod. By F. Sean) - Cage has been getting some shine via Transformers star Shia Labeouf (who produced his latest video). The track comes off Cage’s Depart From Me dropping July 7th, 2009 via Def Jux. (MP3: Download)
12.) Trentemøller - “Vamp (Live Edit)” - We posted an excellent Franz Ferdinand remix last week by Trentemøller. This track is dark, bass heavy, and has a whole lot of attitude. (MP3: Download)
13.) Lusine - “Two Dots” - Seattle based electronica producer Lusine crafts this excellent downtempo and atmospheric track. (MP3: Download)
14.) Black Moth Super Rainbow - “Twin of Myself” (Go! Team Remix) - The U.K. based Go! Team breaths a whole lot of life into indie act, Black Moth Super Rainbow’s latest track to hit the web “Twin of Myself.” (MP3: Download)
15.) Cassettes Won’t Listen - “Quickly Approaching” - We posted on CWL last week as well, and despite the first 40 seconds of this song reminding me of Linkin Park, I still managed to enjoy the track. (MP3: Download)
16.) Jay Z - “D.O.A. + 99 Problems” (Wallpaper. Remix) - Guess who got autotuned despite his recent campaigning against it? Excellent production on this track, one day I’ll take the time to compile a mixtape of Jay’s greatest remixes and this one will belong on there. (MP3: Download)
17.) The Hood Internet - “Comfortable Up Here” (Lil Wayne vs Royksopp) - These fellas churn these mashups out like a fine-tuned factory, but more or less their always on point and mix CD worthy. (MP3: Download)
18.) The Knocks - “Can’t Shake Your Love” - The Knocks are a pair of hard-hitting producers from NYC. We’ve featured their fantastic Passion pit “Sleepyhead” remix before and they are back with a track they’ve produced on DAMN! The Mixtape Vol. 1 presented by Andrew W.K. (MP3: Download)
Mixtape:
1.) The Gaslamp Killer - “Daylight Fades Into Dawn” - Los Angeles downtempo powerhouse GLK puts together this moody, atmospheric mix most appropriately named. This is a great one to meditate on, hypnotic strings and South Asian influence make this a great soundtrack to light some incense to and relax to. (via SmashCartel) (Sharebee, 59mb Download)
Music Videos:
1) The Alchemist & Oh No - “Under Siege” - The Alchemist + OhNo = Gangrene! These two production giants formed a new group and put out this wacky but absolutely dope video featuring verses from both of them. Alchemist’s album, Chemical Warfare, will be out July 7th
2) Jenny Lewis - “Black Sand” - Jenny Lewis of Rilo Kiley puts out this new psychedelic video for “Black Sand” which dropped on her sophmore album Acid Tongue.
