Don’t be mistaken, the date says Sunday September 13th, 2009! The Greek Theatre (Los Angeles) presents Old School Jams Live, a concert featuring legendary hip-hop and R&B stars who pioneered this urban culture you’re living. Lisa Lisa, Ready for the World, Klymaxx, Soul Sonic Force, Kurtis Blow, Peanut Butter Wolf and Egyptian Lover are all scheduled to perform.
Young goons, this is a great opportunity to take your “rich uncle” to a show he’ll love and it may pay dividends later, trust me! To the disengaged parents out there, take this as an opportunity to show your relevance to a young generation your trying oh so hard to figure out. What better way to bridge the generation gap than bickering with your mom or dad on who gets to wear the dookie gold chain or Cazal frames for the night. If you can get pops to wear a pair of Super Skinnies be sure to send us a picture =)
Alongside the classic styled flyer comes a retro promo video:
Tickets: $35.00 ( Ticketmaster )

Now I know we have alot MF Doom fanatics out there and this is especially for you. Fellow Blogger (and DJ) Pipomixes has produced a great mix of Doom joints for you all to enjoy. Personally I can feel Zev Love X way more than Doom but sadly Zev’s forever gone.

In these days of declining music sales Hip Hop heavyweight Jay Z has decided to leak his entire album (via Rhapsody). Try before you buy as it were. I don’t know if this marketing strategy will work for such an established artist but hey it’s free music. So you can’t argue with that.
“It’s a preview. I’m excited for people to hear the album. I’m very proud of the work I’ve done, so enjoy it.”

A.R.M. (M.anifest & Kru Kid with Budo) has done it again! Produced another great song that is.
“Heaven Only Knows” the second single released from the upcoming Uprising album has the African Rebel Movement teamed up with Brother Ali on this funky soulful tune. But unlike Blame my Ego or I Shine they also released a video to go along with the single. Still no word on when the album is expected to be released however it should be soon.
