Ever since Terry brought up this idea I’ve been feigning for a listen. This track will kill a dance floor, but I want more Bowie! I’ll reserve judgment until the full project drops Friday.
With the success of ”Viva La Hova” and “Southerngold”… Terry Urban leaks the first single off his new remix album “Lady Stardust” which mashes up pop sensations Lady Gaga and David Bowie. Terry felt a remix project like this needed to be done with such similarities between the two pop icons. The album will be released for free download Friday, November 20th.
Mick Boogie & Terry Urban came to rock U.C. Riverside a few weeks back. Pheo & I showed the fellas around the Inland and helped rock the party. The buffoonery was documented below:

Common sense would tell you I should put these posts together on Sunday and have them live first thing Monday morning. However weekends are made for more debaucherous activities, and Monday’s are at least intended for more productive work. Got an interesting mix of last weeks music that didn’t make a post on EOLA, download the entire zip of em, or take what you like: MP3: Right Click > Save As
Download: The Monday’s Week 27 (Mediafire, 78mb).
Music:
1.) Wu Tang Clan - “Evil Deeds” (ft. Ghostface Killah, RZA, Havoc) - Third week in a row which a track off the upcoming Chamber Music has hit this weekly list, probably due to the fact the Clan has been producing incredible quality music, excited to get the complete project which drops officially tomorrow (June 30th). (MP3: Download)
2.) Emilio Rojas - “A Million” (prod. Bangladesh) - Emilio via Brooklyn drops this stray shot in advance to his upcoming mixtape, The Natural, with DJ Green Lantern coming later this summer. (MP3: Download)
3.) Nas - “Film” (prod. C-Sick) - Last year after taking the Red Bull “Big Tune” beat battle competition, 17 year old Charles “C-Sick” Dumazer snagged his prize & opportunity to record alongside Nas. How does he produce his beats? A PC laptop, Fruity Loops software & searching Google for Mp3’s and sounds! Nas even put some of his best rhymes forward on this track. (MP3: Download)
4.) The Kid Daytona - “Air Born” (ft. Bun B) - The Kid Daytona is certainly a fan favorite amongst the independent hip hop scene, he linked up with Bun B at SXSW this past year and out comes a collaboration track! I’m a huge fan of Bun, so obviously check out his verse. The Kid Daytona is drumming up the promo campaign for his newest album, Come Fly With Me, dropping tomorrow (June 30th) as well. (MP3: Download)
5.) Drake - “Think Good Thoughts” (ft. Phonte, Elzhi & prod. 9th Wonder) - If Drake were to ask me which artists he should collaborate with, Phonte, Elzhi & 9th Wonder would certainly appear high on my list, and the fact that all four of em will rock on one track togther? Even better… You’ve probably heard versions of this before, but this is the complete song with Elzhi’s verse. (MP3: Download)
6.) Cookin Soul - “Streets Is Getting Hot” (Remix) (ft. Tek, Stat Quo, Ali Vegas, Mic Geronimo, Big Pooh, Doo Wop, Icadon, Chirie Vegas & 40 Cal) - Last week we featured a track off the upcoming collaboration mixtape from Nah Right x FLuD watches dubbed 1 A.M. & Rising. The mixtape is entirely produced by Cookin Soul & drops next week. Until then you have a Beenie-Man influenced megamix featuring a slew of hip hop artists I don’t recognize, but they come together nicely. (MP3: Download)
7.) 87 Stick Up Kids - “Stoops & Basements” - Not personally a fan of 87 Stick Up Kids, but they’ve certainly been hustlin the So.Cal music scene as of late & just put out their new EP, Out 4 Fame, which you could download here. I ran across “Stoops & Basements” a long while ago, but it’s my favorite track off the E.P. because the baselines kicking! (MP3: Download)
8.) Ladytron - “Tomorrow” (Vector Lovers Rmx) - Long time electro-dance staples Ladytron get the remix treatment from Vector Lovers for “Tomorrow” off last year’s album Velocifero. (MP3: Download)
9.) La Roux - “Tigerlily” - The very much buzzworthy electropop duo, La Roux, is priming themselves for their breakout year. Their self titled new album dropped today and can be caught where ever you legitimately purchase music. (MP3: Download)
Another 5 tracks, a mix & video’s after the jump…

Are we getting lazier or is the web producing more music which keeps our heads nodding and toe’s tapping? Whichever is the case, The Monday’s have been a hit so far, I’ve been seeing a ton of traffic & retweets, so I’m assuming this is something people want to see more of. Three weeks ago we started with 6 tracks and this week I’ve got about 18 for you! Once again, here are tracks keeping our ear’s buzzen which we could have shared with you last week!
Download: The Monday’s Week 26 (Mediafire, 87mb).
Music:
1.) Wu Tang Clan - “Kill Too Hard” (Ft. Inspectah Deck, U-God, Masta Ace) - We posted a track off Wu-Tang: Chamber Music last Monday & the tunes keep dropping off the project. Grab a legit copy of the album June 30th which couples original Wu-Tang MCs with classic 90s-era New York Rappers. The clan continues to strengthen their brand after half a decade of lackluster releases. (MP3: Download)
2.) Grand Puba - “Same Old Drama” ft. Large Professor - We posted on Puba last Monday as well, but this time he links up with NYC legend Large Pro to create a thought provoking track with some smooth but slightly eery strings looped up. The track comes off his forthcoming solo album Retroactive, dropping on June 23rd. (MP3: Download)
3.) DJ JS-1 - “Clear N’ Present Danger” f. KRS-One & Canibus - A pair of legends go in on this track from DJ JS-1’s upcoming album Ground Original 2: No Sell Out, which drops June 23rd. (MP3: Download)
4.) DJ JS-1 - “Ridiculous” (ft. O.C. & Pharoahe Monch) - Two of the finest and most underated emcee’s to bless a mic, contribute to this track which comes off JS-1’s already hip hop star-studded new release on Fat Beats Records. Intro by Common & Cuts by JS-1. (MP3: Download)
5.) Guilty Simpson - “Feel It” (prod. Style MiSia) - The Stones Throw true goon lays verbs over production via Italian producer Style MiSia. (MP3: Download)
6.) Nas - “Be Worried” (Prod. Swiss Beatz) - Nas & Swiss Beatz collab to drop this gem. Both of em come at this joint with their A-Game. (MP3: Download)
7.) Krondon - “For A Fee” (Prod. Alchemist) - It has been a long time since Krondon has spurred my interest, however this track is fire. Alchemist hits the boards and as usual proves himself to be one of the premier producers in Hip Hop. This joint comes compliments of Krondon’s upcoming solo project, Let Him Live, which drops July 2nd. (MP3: Download)
8.) Crooked I - “Dear Pac - A Letter to Pac” (Komplex Remix) - June 16th marked what would have been Tupac’s 38th birthday. Producer, Komplex remixed Crooked I’s “Dear Tupac” from last year which was originally over the “Straight Ballin’” beat. This version fits like a glove. (MP3: Download)
9.) Wiz Khalifa & Currensy - “Car Service” - A very fresh track from blog favorite’s Wiz Khalifa & Currensy. Sunny day? Drop your windows and bump this one. Looking forward to their collaborative mixtape project How Fly dropping next month. (MP3: Download)
Another 8 tracks, a mix & video’s after the jump…

As evidenced by me posting this near the end of the day, it just goes to show the power of The Monday’s is certainly insurmountable. After waking up mid-day and catching up on the day’s news I thought I’d share with you the things I could have shared last week. This is week 25 of 52 of The Monday’s:
Download: The Monday’s Week 25 (Mediafire, 47mb)
update: Since there are so many tracks I slept on this week, I added a ZIP file of them all above, or individually linked after each one.
Music:
1.) Wu Tang Clan - “Ill Figures” ft. Raekwon ft. M.O.P. & Kool G Rap - This track comes compliments of Wu-Tang: Chamber Music dropping June 30th which couples original Wu-Tang MCs with classic 90s-era New York Rappers. I feel the Wu are sharpening their swords these days cause they’ve been on a hot streak of great material between Raekwon, Meth & Red, GZA & Ghostface. (MP3: Download)
2.) Grand Puba - “I See Dead People” ft. Rell & Lord Jamar - Another 90s-era Hip Hop group, Brand Nubian, has been pretty active lately putting together good vibes & tunes. This is Puba second single, off his forthcoming solo album Retroactive, dropping on June 23rd. Also take a look at what Brand Nubian member Sadat X has been up to (here). (MP3: Download)
3.) L.E.G.A.C.Y. - “TKO” ft. Phonte, Chaundon, & Sean Price - L.E.G.A.C.Y. has been stirring up some buzz with his soon to drop album, Suicide Music (June 16th). This track features some of my favorites including Phonte of Little Brother and Sean Price of Boot Camp Clik. (MP3: Download)
4.) Mr. Lif - “The Sun” (CWL RMX) ft. Cassettes Won’t Listen - Casettes Won’t Listen is a Indie Rock & Electronic project created by producer Jason Drake. CWL expects to release an intstrumental album titled, Into the Hillside, June 16th. In anticipation for the LP, CWL put out a free remix EP, (F)remix, featuring an eclectic set of independant artists. via OKP (MP3: Download)
5.) Santigold - “Anne” (King Britt Moody Mix) - King Britt drops the “Moody Mix” of the much remixed Santigold track “Anne.” It’s dark, has a hypnotizing dubstep rhythm, and is perfect for one of those long middle of the night drives back to the suburbs. (MP3: Download)
6.) Sean Bones - “Dancehall” - This island flavored track from indie-artist Sean Bones is his first single off his debut album, Rings dropping July 21st. (MP3: Download)
7.) Franz Ferdinand - “No You Girls” (Trentemoller remix) - Here’s the remix of the dub-edit. (MP3: Download)
8.) Animal Collective - “Daily Routine” (Phaseone Remix) - St. Louis based Phaseone has been racking up buzzworthy reworks, and this Animal Collective remix is no exception. (MP3: Download)
9.) Anti-Pop Consortium - “Capricorn One” - This group hasn’t dropped a track since 2002, at a time where they enjoyed and lived at the heights of the experimental hip hop scene. This track is frantic from the beats to the lyrics, but has an odd cohesiveness. Their full length album, titled Flourecent Black, is due Oct 13. (MP3: Download)
10.) Thieves Like Us - “Drugs in My Body” (Teenagers Rmx) - A Teenagers remix of the popular indie hit “Drugs in My Body”. It’s sped up, crunchy, & dancefloor ready. (MP3: Download)

The production duo N.A.S.A. drops a very creative video for their track “A Volta” featuring Sizzla, Amanda Blank, & Lovefoxxx off their debut album The Spirit of Apollo which landed mid-February.
The folks over at Logan took the incredible & original artwork of The Date Farmers and brought it to life by creating an entire 8-bit, ultra-violent, drug-war-ravaged cityscape of corruption, deceit, and heavy narcotics.
The video is chock full of evil bosses, sadistic henchmen, vigilantes, important briefcases, ghetto birds, and piles of cash.
If you haven’t checked out artwork by the Indio (California) based, Date Farmers, you are certainly sleeping on your art game. You can spot our boy DJ Alf Alpha DJing their galleries & lacing their projects with tunes as he’s part of their crew.

There hasn’t been too much dance material on the site lately. Mostly because I’m the only one that writes on it, and I kind of fell off the bandwagon for a while exploring other things. However you may remember DJ Neoteric from the DJ Benzi Motivation 2 (Sendspace, 106mb) mixtape, he’s going on tour down under and dropped this dance/electro mix to hold you over when your craving some more bpm’s in your life.
Also scooped up on a track by his project Smoke & Mirrors, attached down below.
Last but not least, my homie Basic Blink hit me with a beautiful dance remix of Lucy Pearl’s “Dance Tonite” off his upcoming collaborative project called X:\ run Booty Bounce dropping here on EOLA late July. Attached below.

So Andrew (fellow contributor…) put me on Friendly Fires a bit before our excursion to Coachella this year. After having their debut single, “Skeleton Boy,” on repeat for few weeks and checking out their self-titled E.P they dropped back in 2008, I thought their music could use some sharing, even though I may be late on it.
Peep the very innovative video for the “Skeleton Boy” below… It’s directed by Clemens Habicht of Nexus Productions, it goes to show how important the relationship between a great song and great video to pair is becoming in this visual media saturated society.
Edgy, monochromatic music video for Friendly Fires, directed by Clemens Habicht. The band were transformed into Skeleton Boys as a nod to the track’s title, with the aid of double-sided sticky tape, fans and trillions of bean bag balls. - Nexus Productions
Last night while perusing the web and coming across this psychedelic Alice In Wonderland video, I realized if you give the video for “Skeleton Boy” the same treatment, you certainly get a trippy visual media overload! Check that out here: http://bit.ly/3BpbZ
After the jump, stream their full record on the LaLa player:

I would have posted this a few hours ago, but I’m glad I didn’t. I decided to run to lunch, iPod in hand loaded with Chester French’s debut mixtape, Jacques James Vol. 1: Endurance. I listened to all the tracks leaking off this mixtape weeks prior, and at first listen, they were good, but nothing for me to rave about. After giving this whole project a run through, I’d have to say it is one of the most well put together and best sounding debut mixtapes I have ever run across.
For all those who profess Lupe Fiasco’s Cool was some sort of “concept album” please take a listen to Jacques Jams Vol. 1. The whole mix revolves around the comedic narrative of Chester French; Starting as gym jocks in the pursuit of “endurance” and women, but then realize being creative and starting a band maybe an easier route to some female attention and fame. This is their journey, each song with its own personality and theme, spiced up with a all-star cast of talent: Pharrell, Bun B, Wale, Janelle Monae, Karindal Offishal, Push-T, Common & more. It features a half-dozen hilarious skits, written better than half the sitcoms on television & reminiscent of the original young pranksters, the Beastie Boys. The sound is progressive to say the least, you’ll hear the most creative verses traded on pro-tools in quite some time, its heavy on the synths but with punk-ska flavor, high-pitch funky hooks & it’s just damn sexy in places.
In their words:
“Jacques Jams, Vol. 1: Endurance” is a chronicle of the past six years of our lives. It tells our story, from the gymnasiums of Harvard to the hills of Hollywood. Unlike “Love the Future,” which we’ve written, arranged, performed, produced, and engineered by ourselves, “Jacques Jams” features a collection of new, original music that we created in the hills of Massachusetts and then invited some of our favorite artists to grace.
As young artists, we couldn’t be more grateful for this opporunity to collaborate with legends like Jermaine Dupri, Diddy, Pharrell, Pusha, Talib Kweli, Bun B., The Mad Rapper, Kardinal Offishall, N.O.R.E, and Jadakiss as well as younger friends like Janelle Monae, Cassie, Wale, Solange, Lady Gaga, and Mickey Factz. All of these fantastic artists have been more than generous with their creativity and hard work, so we owe them an enormous debt. Clinton Sparks, above all, has tirelessly guided us toward success and endurance, a tall order with obnoxious perfectionists like us!”
This mixtape is smart, but what would you expect from two Harvard students? There’s more college experience here than an Asher Roth single. All that and its offered as a free download… give it a listen, I bet you would have been down to drop a Hamilton on it. I threw some of my favorite tracks down below.
