If you weren’t lucky enough to catch the Gorillaz at the Coachella Festival this year, things are looking up for you, friend. In support of the band’s fantastic latest record, Plastic Beach, the Gorillaz have announced that they will embark on a world-wide tour spanning North America in October, Europe in November, Australia and New Zealand in December, and Hong Kong in yet to be determined dates. More information including ticket pricing here.
The ‘Escape to Plastic Beach World Tour 2010′ trailer:
The 2010 FYF Fest (formerly known as F*ck Yeah Fest) line-up has been announced and boasts, as usual, a diverse array of indie acts ranging from lo-fi to electronic, to hardcore punk. Held annually at the Los Angeles State Historic Park, the event will take place on Labor Day weekend and although pre-sale tickets have long since sold out, the music fest is a damn good deal considering the extensiveness and quality of the roster. The event has sure come a long way since it’s humble beginnings (that used to incorporate one of the craziest and intense organized scavenger hunts in L.A.) and this year it’s bigger and better than ever.
This event actually sounds fun. The East of L.A. family and I are going to stop by tomorrow to celebrate soccer with the rest of the world. Head in to your Friday workday tipsy, I mean this has to be the weekend to pull it off…
There is way too much amazing shit going on with this event for FREE -or- $5 at a brand new rooftop venue…

The big homie One Be Lo (of Binary Star) will be doing an instore at the Inland’s favorite hip hop & apparel store GCS Clothing. Alongside will be performances by Pomona’s Late Bloomers & Blackcloud’s first string rappers Noa James & Faimkills. Also please don’t sleep on the fact that CASH-ONLY Rock The Bells tickets will be available at the GCS instore. Considering the festival is back at the NOS Center & has such a fantastic line-up, I suggest save up your pennies, see a great instore performance & pick up some festival tickets which will be sold out.

Our good friend Tina has recently organized an event set to promote the Brisk Emerging Artist Contest (a competition in which 3 selected artists from 30 competing schools receive $10,000 scholarships) going down this Thursday at Back To The Grind in Riverside, California. Our associates and creative partners are preparing great sets: AFTA-1 and emcee SPEAK!, as well as our friend DMN SLYR. Other performances include dirtRAID and the Riverside Drum Circle. More fun activities will be offered at the event such as a tentu.org-sponsored crafting center and a photobooth provided by MAMIKO.NU.
The event is completely FREE and will go down from 7:30-11:00pm. If you’re in the area, this is definitely not one to miss.
To many, the break-up of The Libertines six years ago was an overwhelming disappointment and left an immense hole in the then large resurgence in the British indie rock climate. After two instant-classic records, Up The Bracket and The Libertines, the band was making huge strides in the post-punk and garage rock revival scenes. Despite the band’s critical and commercial success, however, tensions between the two frontmen, Carl Barât (vocals/lead guitar) and Pete Doherty (vocals/rhythm guitar) as well as Doherty’s obvious addictions led to their abrupt demise.
Following six years and a slew of solo/side-projects from all four members of the band, The Libertines have decided to make amends and reunite. First on the agenda are highly anticipated special appearances at the Reading and Leeds Festivals. Lets hope Carl and Pete keep it copacetic this time and old Petey stays clean (ha, right).
